Screening & Testing
We offer a full range of Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) screening and testing including:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhoea
- HIV
- Syphilis
- Hepatitis B & C
- Trichomonas
- Genital Herpes (HSV)
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
Screening may involve a urine sample testing, blood tests, swabs and/or a physical examination depending on your symptoms.
When Should You Get Tested?
- You’ve had unprotected sex
- You have had a new sexual encounter
- You or your partner have multiple sexual partners
- You’ve been having symptoms such as an unusual discharge, pain, sores or itching
- You would like a routine sexual health check-up
STI Symptoms
- Pain or burning sensation while urinating
- Genital sores, blisters or warts
- Unusual discharge from the penis or vagina
- Itching or irritation in the genital area
- Pain in your lower abdomen
- Irregular bleeding (in the case of women)
Treatment & Follow-up
Most STIs can be easily treated with antibiotics or antiviral medication. Your doctor will explain your diagnosis clearly, talk to you about your treatment options and provide any necessary prescriptions. Details of any follow-up care needed or necessity to notify your partner (if appropriate) will also be discussed with you.
